Under Armour is expanding its partnership with UNLESS, a pioneering regenerative fashion brand built on circularity. They launched three new sneaker styles made from bio-based, plastic-free materials. This is the first time UNLESS footwear will be sold through Under Armour. The launch builds on their shared focus on circular, sustainable design.
UNLESS is the world’s first all-plant, zero-plastic regenerative fashion brand. Every piece in this collection was made using only plant-based materials, built to be worn in the elements, and designed to harmlessly return to the elements – leaving zero toxic chemicals or microplastics behind.
The new sneakers reflect UNLESS’s circular and regenerative ethos. They are inspired by nature’s circular systems, aiming to create products that give back to the planet. Unlike typical footwear that relies on plastics, petrochemicals, and synthetic dyes, these sneakers are engineered to decompose and return to the earth at the end of their life cycle.
Constructed entirely from plant-based materials, the sneakers offer excellent breathability, comfort, and traction. They demonstrate that style can be sustainable and circular at the same time. The lineup consists of the UNLESS York Low, the UNLESS Govy Mid, and the UNLESS Seaside Slip-on.
Eric Leidtke, EVP of Brand Strategy at Under Armour, said these sneakers embody a new standard. They give back more than they take, embodying a circular approach that works in harmony with nature. He emphasized that UA aims to use its platform to promote responsible, bio-based innovation that supports the circular economy.
This collection showcases how brands can develop products rooted in circularity. Using bio-based, regenerative materials, they aim to create footwear that is both stylish and environmentally responsible. It’s a step toward a more circular, less wasteful fashion industry.
