HUGO BOSS introduces recycled polyester yarn NovaPoly

HUGO BOSS has introduced NovaPoly, a new recycled polyester yarn. This yarn was co-developed with suppliers Jiaren Chemical Recycling and NBC LLC. HUGO BOSS holds the trademark and exclusive usage rights for the first year. The company aims to establish new industry benchmarks with this material. There are plans to license NovaPoly across the fashion sector later.

This initiative is part of the company’s BOSS THE CHANGE program. The first BOSS Green products featuring NovaPoly will launch globally in October 2025. Initially, the fiber will be exclusive to the BOSS and HUGO brands. However, the company is exploring a licensing model for future accessibility. This aims to make the fiber available to more industry partners.

NovaPoly is produced from textile waste materials. This includes waste from clothing production and post-consumer textiles. A natural additive is incorporated into the fiber. This additive is designed to mimic the natural behavior of fibers. It is intended to make the material degradable. This innovation supports HUGO BOSS’ goal to address microplastics. Reducing microplastics is a key part of the company’s sustainability strategy.

NovaPoly supplements HUGO BOSS’ existing efforts. These efforts focus on developing alternatives to polyester and polyamide fibers. Previous work includes a partnership with HeiQ AeoniQ.

Products containing NovaPoly will be available in various locations. This includes online stores, BOSS retail stores, and selected wholesale partners. Availability is scheduled to begin globally in October 2025. As part of the Spring/Summer 2026 collection for BOSS Green, NovaPoly will be integrated into specific performance wear items.
