UBQ Materials launches UBQ™ Masterbatch to transform sustainable manufacturing

UBQ Materials announced the launch of its new UBQ™ Masterbatch, a groundbreaking product designed to transform manufacturing.

Municipal waste incineration in Europe nearly doubled from 30 million tonnes in 1995 to 59 million tonnes in 2022, highlighting a growing waste crisis. UBQ’s patented process converts household waste—including organics and hard-to-recycle materials—into a sustainable plastic alternative.

Producing UBQ™ Masterbatch can divert up to 95% of household waste from landfills and incineration facilities, reducing environmental impact. The product provides retailers and manufacturers with a price-stable, risk-resistant alternative to traditional plastics, compatible with existing production lines.

UBQ™ replaces oil-based resins with a circular material made entirely from household waste, supporting eco-friendly supply chains. The product offers high performance, with no need to compromise on process efficiency or product quality.

UBQ Materials plans to expand its manufacturing footprint with facilities in Europe and a new plant in the U.S. soon. UBQ™ is shipped globally to partners such as Crescent Garden, with products available in Europe, the U.S., and Latin America. The European Commission awarded UBQ a €5 million grant from the Just Transition Fund to accelerate the development and market entry of sustainable materials.

The company collaborates with leading brands including Mercedes-Benz, PepsiCo, and McDonald’s to incorporate UBQ™ into their products.

The UBQ™ Masterbatch portfolio is versatile, compatible with various polymers, and suitable for injection molding or shaping through molds. It offers benefits such as easy handling, excellent dispersion, cost competitiveness, and a negative carbon footprint, supporting climate goals.

The material’s adaptability makes it ideal for manufacturing a wide range of everyday goods, from household items to building materials.

By providing a sustainable, circular alternative, UBQ Materials helps brands meet rising environmental standards and consumer demand.
