Evegreen d.o.o., a forward-thinking company from Slovenia, has developed and launched the country’s first cosmetic jar made from an in-house developed biobased material. This achievement was made possible through close collaboration with experts in sustainable materials.
The new material is entirely derived from renewable plant-based sources. It has received official certification for use in the cosmetics industry. The product meets strict safety and quality standards for direct contact with cosmetic products. This ensures both environmental benefits and functional performance.
Evegreen and its partners received the Bronze Innovation Award from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS). The award honors excellence in innovation and sustainable product development at the national level.
The Evegreen team said, “With this innovation, we’re showing that even smaller players in the global bioeconomy can drive real change. We do this by investing in local R&D and collaboration.” Their goal is to offer a high-performance alternative to fossil-based plastics. They already see strong interest from cosmetics brands across Europe.
The eco-friendly cosmetic jar is now available on the market. Evegreen is actively seeking distribution partners, private label clients, and cosmetics brands interested in eco-certified, biobased packaging.
This breakthrough highlights how innovative, sustainable materials can reshape the cosmetics industry. It also promotes environmental responsibility while supporting local R&D efforts.
