Niber Technologies partners with BRAIND on brand strategy

Niber Technologies has announced a strategic collaboration with BRAIND, a consultancy specializing in ingredient brand strategy. The company is Southeast Asia’s first industrial-scale manufacturer of PFAS-free electrospun nanofiber membranes.

As part of the partnership, BRAIND managing director Tomas Vucurevic has been appointed chief brand advisor to Niber. He will support the company’s brand strategy, positioning, naming, and messaging, along with brand partner collaboration and global activation.

The move reflects Niber’s shift from a materials manufacturer toward building a recognized ingredient brand for its electrospun membrane platform. Jaemin Park, co-founder of Niber Technologies, said the company has always seen its technology’s value extending beyond the membrane itself into real product performance. He called the ingredient branding effort a deliberate step in the company’s evolution.

The performance textiles industry is undergoing significant change. Regulatory pressure on PFAS is reshaping material choices, while expectations around comfort and breathability continue to rise. Niber said the challenge now extends beyond technical development into how new technologies are communicated and trusted across the supply chain.

Working with BRAIND, the company plans to build a brand platform aimed at three audiences. Brand partners would gain a clearer way to specify material performance. Retailers would get a more accessible story to support sales. Consumers would receive a recognizable signal for PFAS-free breathable performance.

Richard Beck, president of Niber Technologies, said moving from a membrane-only business to a structured ingredient brand marks a natural next step. He said the partnership with BRAIND provides the strategic framework to build recognition among brands, retailers, and consumers.

Vucurevic said ingredient branding is fundamentally about making complex technology understandable. He pointed to Niber’s position as an Asia-based company entering a field long shaped by established Western ingredient brands.
