Charm Industrial, a leader in the climate technology field, has announced a partnership with Manufacturo to improve carbon capture and storage methods. This collaboration aims to strengthen Charm’s innovative carbon removal techniques.
Founded in 2018, Charm Industrial specializes in a process called “fast pyrolysis,” which converts biomass into liquid bio-oil. This bio-oil is then injected underground for permanent carbon storage. By utilizing otherwise wasted biomass, Charm seeks to effectively remove carbon from the atmosphere as part of its efforts to combat climate change.
Dillon Card, Operations Engineering Manager at Charm Industrial, emphasized the importance of this partnership in scaling carbon removal initiatives. “To effectively combat climate change, it’s essential to scale carbon removal responsibly and efficiently. Manufacturo’s comprehensive software solution will be vital in helping us increase our carbon removal capabilities,” he stated. Card also noted that both organizations share a vision for the future of manufacturing, which they hope to advance through this collaboration.
As part of the partnership, Manufacturo will provide Charm Industrial with a customized process control solution designed to enhance operational efficiency and ensure accurate traceability for its carbon ledger. This integration leverages Manufacturo’s advanced API capabilities, which facilitate effective data management.
Jackson Lisec, Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Charm, commented on the technical benefits of the partnership: “The seamless data interoperability between Manufacturo and our carbon accounting software, Ledger, will ensure precise tracking of production outputs, helping us maintain high-quality carbon credits.”
The partnership highlights a shared dedication to innovation in addressing climate change. Kenzo Takai, Chief Operations Officer of Manufacturo, expressed enthusiasm about working with Charm: “We are excited to collaborate with Charm, one of the fastest-growing technologies in carbon removal. Our integrated software solution is designed to support the advancement of Charm’s bio-oil sequestration, aligning our efforts to reduce air pollution and restore atmospheric CO₂ levels to pre-industrial standards.”
