Sanyou and Circ partner to scale bio-recycled cellulosic fibers in textile

Sanyou Chemical Fiber is a large-scale cellulose fiber maker. It is part of the Tangshan Sanyou Group. Circ is a US-based company that innovates in textile-to-textile recycling. They announced a strategic partnership to grow recycled cellulosic fibers, especially lyocell. Sanyou will buy pulp from Circ’s first commercial-scale facility. The facility is expected to be operational in 2028.  

This collaboration will produce 30% recycled content lyocell staple fibers. It aims to increase access to recycled fibers.  

Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ, said, “Sanyou’s commitment shows our product quality and industry potential.” He added, “Our goal is a circular economy in fashion.” Strategic partnerships like this are vital for recycling innovation.  

Sanyou’s commitment helps customers access high-quality recycled Circ Lyocell. Demand for sustainable fibers is outpacing supply. Brands want to diversify their production markets with eco-friendly options.  

Sanyou received the top rating in Canopy’s 2024 Hot Button Report. This assesses forest sourcing and leadership in Next Gen production. It supports the growth of sustainable fibers market.

Zhang Dongbin, Deputy GM of Sanyou, said, “Both companies are dedicated to reducing environmental impact.” He added, “This partnership sets new standards for sustainability in textiles.”
