USDA announces $7 M boost for advanced biofuel producers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced a $7 million fund to support advanced biofuel producers across the country. This funding is part of the Advanced Biofuel Producer Payment Program, a key initiative of the One Big Beautiful Bill. The program aims to increase the production of American-grown biofuels, encouraging sustainable energy solutions.

Secretary Brooke L. Rollins emphasized President Trump’s commitment to expanding domestic biofuel production. She stated that these investments help secure the nation’s energy independence and support American farmers. The program is designed to support biofuel producers by providing quarterly payments based on the amount of biofuel they produce during each period.

Eligible producers can apply for payments for finished advanced biofuels, which are defined under specific federal regulations. The enrollment period for this funding opportunity runs from October 1, 2025, to December 15, 2025. Producers interested in participating are encouraged to contact their state’s Rural Development Energy Coordinator for more information.

This initiative aligns with USDA’s broader efforts to invest in rural America’s economic growth and energy resilience. Supporting biofuel production benefits consumers through lower fuel prices, creates jobs, and promotes environmentally friendly energy sources. The program reflects a strategic push to strengthen local industries and reduce reliance on imported fuels.
