During this year’s Milan Design Week, Under Armour in collaboration with UNLESS launched a groundbreaking capsule collection of entirely plant-based athletic apparel. This partnership marks the first project between the sportswear brand and UNLESS, a pioneer in creating garments free from synthetic and plastic components.
“This is merely the starting point—ushering in a new era of athletic wear designed for both performance and environmental sustainability,” the two brands expressed in a joint announcement.
This limited-edition range features hoodies, t-shirts, and shorts, crafted to meet high athletic performance standards while using fully regenerative materials derived from plants. Once they have reached the end of their life cycle, all items can be composted, ensuring that no plastic or synthetic waste remains.
The collaboration emerges after UNLESS, known for advancing plant-based alternatives in fashion, was acquired by Under Armour. This is the first significant release following the acquisition, showcasing the potential of blending regenerative fashion practices with mainstream athleticwear.
The capsule features designs tailored for men, women, and unisex, drawing inspiration from skate, surf, and outdoor lifestyles. According to the brands, these pieces are made to endure daily wear while ensuring they decompose safely without releasing harmful microplastics or chemicals.
The collection will be exclusively available at the Under Armour Brand House in Baltimore, with prices ranging from $30 to $160. However, no information has been disclosed about future product releases beyond this initial offering.
