Pow.Bio opens new biomanufacturing facility in California

Pow.Bio has announced the opening of its new biomanufacturing facility in Alameda, California. The 25,000-square-foot site will enhance the company’s production capabilities, specifically for continuous fermentation processes.

Located at Marina Village, the facility has advanced production technology, including AI-enabled continuous fermentation systems. This innovation aims to help partners achieve their target production costs and enhance manufacturing competitiveness.

The new facility features a range of dual-chamber continuous systems at different scales. Additionally, the site includes expanded bench and pilot-scale capabilities, allowing for seamless transitions from small-scale experiments to larger production runs.

One key aspect of the facility is its advanced fermentation software. The AI-enabled software facilitates rapid process development within weeks, streamlining production timelines for partners. The predictive control system enables autonomous fermentation, which reduces variability and improves efficiency across different production scales.

As an FDA-registered facility, Pow.Bio is committed to maintaining high production standards, particularly for clients in the food and beverage sector. The new site includes a cleanroom that supports pilot-scale fermentation and downstream processing to meet these demands.
