Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel) and AM Green, a subsidiary of the Greenko Group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore opportunities for the production of biogenic carbon-based sustainable fuels. This collaboration aims to address the growing demand for cleaner energy alternatives and support decarbonization efforts in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

The two parties will identify, evaluate, and co-develop projects to harness and aggregate at least one million tonnes of biogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) per year for sustainable fuel production in AM Green’s plants. The focus will be on bio and green methanol, second-generation (2G) ethanol, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Keppel brings experience in waste management, organic feedstock processing, and carbon cycling, contributing valuable knowledge to the partnership. AM Green leverages Greenko’s Intelligent Renewable Energy Storage Platform (IRESP) to support renewable energy utilization and contribute to India’s climate change goals.

Ms. Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel’s Infrastructure Division commented that “Biofuels have an important role to play in decarbonising industrial operations and the aviation sector. Keppel’s experience and expertise will benefit this collaboration with AM Green, aiming to develop next-generation biofuels and SAF.”

Mr. Mahesh Kolli, President of AM Green, added: “We are excited to partner with Keppel for this pioneering collaboration. AM Green will utilize Greenko’s IRESP to support India’s transformation towards becoming an exporter of renewable-energy derived products.”
