Proteins are the building blocks of life. There are about 100 million known distinct proteins, with more and more being found constantly. DeepMind has been working since 2016 to solve the problem of the lack of organization and information by creating a database. They’ve created an AI system called AlphaFold, which was taught the sequences and structures of around 100,000 known proteins.
