On November 2, 2025, Buffalo Biodiesel submitted a detailed work plan to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). The plan outlined upgrades to retrofit all indoor and outdoor tanks with secondary containment systems. The DEC approved this submission, marking an important step in enhancing environmental safeguards and operational resilience.
Additionally, on October 28, 2025, the company submitted a work plan for installing overfill prevention systems on all used cooking oil and yellow grease storage tanks. The DEC also approved this plan, further supporting the company’s compliance efforts.
