BioAcetate is a product created by Wingram Industrial Company Limited in Hong Kong with factories in Malaysia and China. Wingram’s business focuses on providing solutions to solve the increasingly prevalent environmental concerns of our earth. The company is focused on innovations on sustainable plastics and seeks to achieve this by producing environmentally friendly plastics.

BioAcetate S70 is a high-performing and multi-purpose biodegradable material that has a special focus on eyewear, and is suitable for both injection and handmade frames. It’s a sustainable and biodegradable eco-friendly replacement for traditional acetate and is not made with DEP or any harsh chemicals.

The stronger BioAcetate S70 is biodegradable, bio-based, recyclable, renewable, and harmful plasticizers free. It has been tested with the strictest international standards such as the ISO 14855 standard for biodegradability, and i certified by reputable third-party institutions such as, Fraunhofer from Germany, and Beta Analytic from the USA.

One of the main advantages of BioAcetate S70 is that it is Hardness Enhanced CA (HECA), which means that BioAcetate S70 is much less brittle than conventional acetate. As one can imagine, this has many practical applications. To illustrate, a stronger and more durable material that does not sacrifice performance allows for thinner eyewear frames designs to be made. Thinner frames that would otherwise break, can now be made with BioAcetate S70’s HECA.

BioAcetate is designed to have similar characteristics/properties and functions to conventional Cellulose Acetate (CA). The bio-based acetate is an eco-friendly and sustainable replacement to conventional CA.
