SkiesFifty and Frontline BioEnergy have announced a partnership aimed at commercializing waste-to-energy technology for the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The collaboration will establish a new joint venture that both companies will own and invest in.

This agreement combines SkiesFifty’s investment expertise and focus on sustainable aviation with Frontline’s patented gasification technology, which converts biomass and waste into renewable fuels on an industrial scale. The venture aims to address the global demand for clean fuels by creating a production pipeline for SAF and green methanol.

Kurt Stache, a partner at SkiesFifty, stated that the joint venture reflects their commitment to sustainable aviation through innovative investment solutions. The initiative will target the scaling of green methanol and SAF production at strategic sites across the United States, with possibilities for global expansion.

Frontline BioEnergy will utilize its gasification technology in the venture’s projects and lease it to other initiatives. Jerod Smeenk, CEO of Frontline, emphasized the potential of their technology to generate synthesis gas that is clean and free of pollutants, which could further support SAF production.

The partnership aims to reduce aviation’s carbon footprint while meeting the growing demand for sustainable travel. Both companies believe this initiative could play a significant role in advancing clean fuel production and promoting environmental sustainability and economic growth. Plans to deploy Frontline’s technology are expected to unfold over the next decade.
