While public awareness of the dangers microplastics pose to human, animal and environmental health are at an all time high, accurate means of measuring the amount of this material in our ecosystems has thus far remained insufficient. Now, a new method has stepped in as a potential answer to this problem – Pyrolysis-gas chromatography mass spectrometry (py-GC-MS). So what is it?
