Taiwan’s textile industry champions circular and bio-based materials at TITAS 2025

Amid global supply-chain shifts and rising sustainability demands, Taiwan’s textile sector continues to lead with innovation, design, and eco-friendly practices. At the 2025 Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS), the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) showcased its forward-thinking RECODE 2050 Fashion Showcase, highlighting the country’s commitment to circularity and sustainable materials.

The event drew over a hundred international and domestic brands, creating a platform for strategic dialogue on future-ready textiles. Nineteen manufacturers collaborated with six designer brands to present 48 looks emphasizing bio-based materials, circular craftsmanship, and functional design. The showcase demonstrated Taiwan’s vision for a sustainable 2050, emphasizing the entire “polymer-to-apparel” supply chain that supports eco-conscious markets in the U.S., Europe, and beyond.

Taiwan’s leadership in green innovation and high-tech manufacturing is reshaping the textile industry’s sustainability landscape. Companies like Libolon lead in polymer-to-fabric integration, while others like SINGTEX produce recycled yarns from ocean waste. These advancements enable brands to meet stricter global regulations on carbon reduction, recycling, and circularity.

Taiwan’s eco-friendly textiles power over 70% of the performance fabrics used by major sports brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Lululemon. The industry plays a vital role in global sporting events, with ocean-recycled fibers and bio-based fabrics featured in jerseys for the FIFA World Cup and Olympic teams. For the 2024 Paris Olympics, Taiwan supplied lightweight, moisture-wicking, and recycled fabrics used in athlete apparel.
