Reworld launches largest PFAS destruction solution in the U.S.

Reworld®, a leader in sustainable waste management, announced a major breakthrough today. The company introduced ReAssure™ PFAS Destruction. It offers the country’s largest capacity to destroy PFAS-containing materials from municipal, commercial, and industrial waste streams.

PFAS, often called “forever chemicals,” are highly persistent and toxic. They’ve been used in thousands of products since the 1930s. PFAS chemicals do not break down easily. They can stay in the environment for decades. They are found in water, soil, and even in most people’s blood. The problem is growing worldwide.

Traditional landfills do not destroy PFAS. Instead, they store it. Rainwater can wash PFAS from waste, creating contaminated leachate. Landfill gas can also release PFAS into the air. Experts say landfilling is not a solution. It simply shifts the problem to future generations.

Reworld’s new system offers a better way. The ReAssure solution uses Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities (TTFs). These operate at temperatures above 1,100°C (2,012°F). That temperature is widely recognized as effective for destroying PFAS.

Testing at Reworld’s TTFs has shown a 99% destruction rate. In fact, their capacity is over 17 times larger than hazardous waste incineration. No other company has this level of destruction capacity.

Reworld also provides access to more than 50 Material Processing Facilities (MPFs). These prepare waste for delivery to TTFs. The company offers logistics, wastewater treatment, and other services. This comprehensive approach helps manage a wide range of PFAS waste, from products to residuals.

The process is designed to be safe and traceable. Reworld manages waste from pickup to final destruction, with detailed records every step of the way. This ensures accountability and compliance.

A report with the EPA on their testing is expected soon. Reworld’s CEO, Azeez Mohammed, said, “PFAS must be destroyed, not stored. Our solution ends the cycle permanently. We help protect communities and the environment.”
