Nordic SeaFarm and FutureLab & Partners have launched Manatee Biomaterials, aiming to innovate the biomaterials sector. This collaboration focuses on regenerative seaweed cultivation.

Manatee Biomaterials intends to utilize advanced aquaculture and biomaterial technologies to create renewable materials. The company aims to tackle climate change and resource scarcity.

The initiative has started with projects like ALLGEA, in collaboration with Chalmers, Houdini, and Mounid. Manatee Biomaterials plans to build a diverse product portfolio by 2025.

Nordic SeaFarm provides expertise in seaweed cultivation, while FutureLab & Partners offers research and innovation in circular technology.

CEO Simon Hilmersson of Nordic SeaFarm expressed excitement about the partnership. He believes it expands the potential of seaweed for various industries.
