Nike has unveiled its first exploration into creating a fully circular shoe with the ISPA Link Axis. The shoe is designed to be disassembled and recycled, furthering Nike’s culture of innovation and its commitment to sustainability.

Every part of the Link Axis can be recycled, thanks to its interlocking components, minimal use of materials, and zero glue. The upper is made from 100% recycled polyester Flyknit, and the tooling is made from 100% recycled TPU, including scrap airbag material. The shoe also has a 20% recycled TPU cage.

The Link Axis is the result of the work of the Nike ISPA team, whose design philosophy challenges creators to experiment, break molds, and reimagine products. In the case of the Link Axis, the team was inspired by Nike’s circular vision, which is to create a closed-loop system that yields no waste.

The Link Axis is a bold exploration into circular design, and it represents a significant step forward for Nike. The shoe is not only sustainable, but it is also stylish and performance-driven. It is available in Total Orange and Sonic Yellow, and it will be released on September 12 on SNKRS.

One of the key challenges of circular design is disassembly. A product that is easy to disassemble can be recycled more efficiently and effectively. The Link Axis addresses this challenge with its interlocking components and zero glue construction.

The Link Axis is made from recycled materials whenever possible. It is also designed to minimize waste. The interlocking components and zero glue construction help to reduce production waste. The shoe is also designed to be durable and long-lasting, which reduces the need for replacement. The Link Axis is designed to be refurbished. The interlocking components make it easy to disassemble and repair the shoe. This extends the life of the shoe and reduces the need for replacement.

Circular design is a new and emerging field, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way that products are designed and manufactured. As more companies embrace circular design, we can expect to see a wider range of sustainable products available to consumers.
