BioBond launches biobased protective coatings for food industry

BioBond has announced a new line of biobased protective coatings designed for food processing and distribution industries. These coatings use plant-based epoxies and urethanes.

The coatings are free of microplastics and offer protection against mold, fungi, and other microorganisms. They aim to set a new standard in cost-performance.

CEO Marc McConnaughey expressed enthusiasm for the launch. He stated the development meets challenging performance and pricing standards while providing defense against microorganisms.

Vice President of Products Greg Piche highlighted the coatings’ benefits, including enhanced safety due to their lack of odors. He noted that they are comparable in cost to solvent-based solutions.

Christian Rodriquez, Director of Business Development, emphasized the goal of transforming the protective coatings sector. He noted the solution’s benefits for clients and the environment via sustainable practices.
