BEAM Circular has launched a new $2.2 million grant program aimed at boosting the region’s bioeconomy sector. The Stanislaus County Bioeconomy Job Catalyst Fund is designed to support businesses and employers developing projects that create quality jobs and benefit local communities.
Administered by BEAM Circular, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing California’s circular bioeconomy, the program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). It is part of Stanislaus County’s broader initiative to invest $10 million in BEAM Circular, fostering bio-based manufacturing and regional economic growth.
Neal Best, VP of Business and Economic Development at BEAM Circular, emphasized the fund’s goal: “This is about turning bioeconomy innovation into real jobs and long-term economic opportunity for Stanislaus County. We aim to support both startups and established employers to create a thriving bioindustrial sector.”
The grant program offers two funding tracks. The first supports early-stage companies with up to $75,000 for activities like research, commercialization planning, and workforce training. Applications are due March 30 and May 30, 2026.
The second track targets larger projects by anchor employers or growth-stage companies, offering awards up to $1 million. These projects focus on infrastructure, equipment, or expansion activities with the potential to create 50 or more jobs over five years. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through June 2026.
Projects aligned with circular bioeconomy principles, such as waste diversion, pollution reduction, or sustainable practices, are particularly encouraged. More details and application instructions are available on BEAM Circular’s website.
