AMP Robotics Corp., a leader in AI-driven sortation technology for the waste and recycling industry, has raised $91 million in a Series D financing round led by Congruent Ventures, with participation from investors such as Sequoia Capital and Liberty Mutual Investments.
The funding will enable AMP to expand larger projects aimed at improving efficiency for waste companies and municipalities by reducing sortation costs and maximizing material recovery. The company will accelerate the deployment of its AMP ONE™ systems, which effectively sort municipal solid waste (MSW), already showcased in Portsmouth, Virginia. AMP also recently partnered with Waste Connections, Inc. to enhance recycling operations in Colorado.
Founder Matanya Horowitz pointed out the stagnation in U.S. recycling rates, emphasizing the need for innovation in the sector. The company’s technology employs deep learning to identify recyclables and contaminants, enhancing operational efficiency.
Congruent Ventures co-founder Abe Yokell praised AMP for its potential to reduce landfill dependence and promote environmental sustainability. CEO Tim Stuart expressed gratitude to investors, reaffirming AMP’s commitment to reshaping waste management through more efficient and cost-effective solutions.
