UBQ Materials, a leader in climate-tech and developer of advanced materials made from waste, announced an expansion of its partnership with Keter, the world’s largest resin-based consumer goods company. This expansion will see Keter incorporating UBQ™ – a bio-based, sustainable plastic substitute – across multiple new product lines, further solidifying its commitment to environmental responsibility.
Keter is already incorporating 55% recycled content in its production and will now include a 5-10% load of UBQ™ in a new line of eco-branded “Made with UBQ™” products. This move demonstrates a significant commitment to sustainability and positions Keter as a market leader in the area of innovative, eco-friendly solutions.
“We are committed to transforming our industry for the better,” stated Iftach Sachar, Co-Head of Israel & Chief Sustainability Officer at Keter. “By going beyond our recycled content goals and incorporating UBQ’s climate-positive material, we are delivering tangible products that make a measurable impact on the environment.”
“This partnership is a perfect example of how collaboration can lead to real-world climate impact,” said Albert Douer, Co-CEO and Chairman of UBQ Materials. “We are proud to work with a pioneer like Keter and set the benchmark for the industry to follow, placing carbon emission removal and avoidance at the forefront of sustainable innovation.”
The partnership was recently showcased during COP28, where UBQ Co-Founder and Co-CEO Jack “Tato” Bigio and Keter Managing Director UK, Ireland, and Nordics Edward Johnson participated in a panel discussion at the UNFCCC Global Innovation Hub Pavilion. The session, titled “Climate Partnerships: Corporate – Startup Collaboration for Net Zero Targets,” emphasized the significance of collaboration between corporations and startups in achieving net-zero targets. The discussion explored how incorporating UBQ™ enables Keter to reach its sustainability goals and outlined the future of this impactful partnership.
