Invaio Sciences has recently acquired Peptyde Bio, a company specializing in the discovery and design of novel peptides for agricultural use. The acquisition provides Invaio with a valuable platform and IP portfolio that will enhance their ability to develop biologically active peptides for crop protection in a more sustainable manner.

Invaio is known for its innovative approach in creating nature-positive solutions for farmers. They combine environmentally friendly active ingredients with advanced delivery systems to protect crops effectively. This strategy focuses on two key research areas.

The first is an advanced Discovery Engine that utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning. This engine identifies and designs targeted biological actives, specifically aimed at controlling crop pests and diseases. By addressing sustainability concerns surrounding traditional crop protection treatments in various crops, including vegetables, row crops, and perennials, Invaio aims to provide more eco-friendly solutions.

The second research area revolves around the development and deployment of Biological Delivery Systems. These systems improve the performance of the active ingredients by ensuring their precise delivery to the desired locations in the field. Additionally, these systems are designed to biodegrade quickly once their function is completed, further minimizing their environmental impact.

“This acquisition adds Peptyde Bio’s portfolio of confirmed peptide lead candidates for use in crop protection to our existing pipeline. When combined with our innovative biological delivery systems, we are uniquely positioned to offer growers more natural, efficient and effective solutions to protect their crops,” says Ignacio Martinez, Founding CEO of Invaio. “It’s a truly exciting time for Invaio and the industry as we accelerate the leap to more nature-positive solutions for farmers.”
