Rebel Fuels, a corporation based in Delaware dedicated to public benefit, has launched its new initiative aimed at addressing climate change through advanced carbon recycling technologies.
The company’s approach focuses on converting waste carbon dioxide into carbon-neutral fuels, providing an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels and aiming to decrease greenhouse gas emissions.
The company’s facilities will capture biogenic carbon dioxide emissions from various operations, including ethanol production, wastewater treatment, and biogas generation. This captured CO2 will then be paired with hydrogen derived from renewable sources to produce sustainable fuels, promoting a circular carbon economy that transforms waste into usable energy.
In conjunction with its launch, Rebel Fuels has welcomed two experienced industry professionals, Jon Harman and Barbara Toole O’Neil, to its advisory board. Their expertise in energy and sustainability is expected to play a crucial role in guiding the company’s future endeavors.
CEO Toby Tiktinsky highlighted the implications of this initiative, noting that recycling waste CO2 into fuels such as methane can significantly cut emissions and contribute to a circular economy. He also mentioned that the production of compatible fuels would enable utilities and industries to reduce their carbon footprints more effectively.
The mission of Rebel Fuels aligns with global commitments to mitigate climate change while maintaining the advantages of existing hydrocarbon energy sources. As a Public Benefit Corporation, the company is focused on generating positive environmental impacts alongside achieving financial success.
