Over 75 sessions at RMC 2025 focus on renewable carbon and circular economy

The Renewable Materials Conference (RMC) 2025 will take place from September 22-24 in Siegburg, Germany. The event focuses on replacing fossil carbon with renewable sources in chemicals and materials. It expects more than 500 international participants. The conference will feature 75 presentations and 20 panels. It also includes a two-floor exhibition area for networking.

A key feature this year is a series of twelve interactive expert workshops. These run alongside the main sessions. The workshops dive deep into topics like policy, industry practices, and new technologies. They are hosted by leading companies, institutes, and initiatives.

On September 22, four workshops will kick off the event. Florian Kleinwächter from Holcim will discuss turning CO₂ into business opportunities. Timo Ture and Markku Nikkila will present recycling concepts for consumer waste. A policy workshop led by PtX Lab Lausitz will explore tools to transform petrochemical clusters. Another workshop will advise startups on creating successful business plans for renewable chemicals.

Day two features a diverse set of workshops. Kai Junge Puring from Fraunhofer UMSICHT will showcase the “Air2Chem” project, which uses atmospheric CO₂ as a resource. Michael Carus from nova-Institute will present a study on biomass availability. Additional sessions will cover marketing strategies, biodegradability, and climate standards.

The final day includes workshops on AI in polymer design, life cycle assessment, and policy for renewable carbon. Attendees can find the full program and register at www.renewable-materials.eu.
