LAM’ON secures investment to expand biobased packaging

LAM’ON, a company specializing in biobased and compostable laminating and packaging films, has announced an investment from Eleven Ventures and Grigoriy Ananiev, Managing Director at Citibank. 

The company focuses on providing alternatives to traditional plastic packaging for various industries, including fresh produce, cosmetics, apparel, and logistics. LAM’ON’s products have been adopted by some industry players in these sectors as part of their sustainability initiatives.

Among the offerings is PACK’ON Classic, described as a clear, compostable packaging film suitable for fresh produce, cosmetics, and apparel. The product is designed to ensure high transparency and durability while providing an environmentally friendly disposal option. Another product, PACK’ON Shrink, is a thermo shrink film aimed at multipacks and product protection during shipping. It is characterized by its strength and flexibility, presenting an eco-conscious solution for packaging and distribution.

Gergana Stancheva, Co-founder and COO of LAM’ON, expressed optimism about the investment’s potential to address the demand for sustainable packaging solutions in various sectors, including food and cosmetics, e-commerce, and electronics.

Ivaylo Simov, Partner at Eleven Ventures, noted the favorable environment created by regulatory efforts, growing consumer interest in eco-friendly products, and the potential of the biodegradable plastics market for LAM’ON’s growth.

The investment will focus on increasing LAM’ON’s visibility and enhancing marketing efforts to attract new customers across the packaging markets in Europe.
