UNCAGED Innovations appoints Noel Kinder, former Nike Chief Sustainability Officer, to Board of Directors

UNCAGED Innovations, a pioneer in sustainable leather production from grains, has announced the appointment of Noel Kinder to its Board of Directors. Kinder, who brings 25 years of experience in global operations and sustainability, previously served as Chief Sustainability Officer at Nike.

His tenure at Nike included key roles such as General Manager for Nike Vietnam and leadership in developing sustainable materials strategies, impacting environmental operations across 550 factories in 42 countries. His experience in collaborating with various stakeholders to advance sustainability initiatives in the industry is expected to enhance UNCAGED’s strategic plans.

Kinder’s expertise in global manufacturing, particularly in Asia, aligns with UNCAGED’s goal to expand its production capabilities in the region. His understanding of the fashion industry will also play a crucial role as the company aims to penetrate the footwear market, which accounts for over half of global leather consumption.

In his statement, Kinder emphasized the importance of innovative alternatives to traditional materials in reducing the carbon footprint of the footwear and apparel sectors. He expressed enthusiasm for UNCAGED’s operational capabilities and its potential for significant impact in the industry.

Stephanie Downs, CEO and co-founder of UNCAGED Innovations, expressed excitement about Kinder’s appointment, highlighting the timing as the company prepares for significant growth in 2025.
