Blue Biofuels has engaged Global Management Partners (GMP), an engineering firm, to create Front-End Loading (FEL-2) level engineering plans for a new biofuel production facility. This facility aims to have an annual output of 3 million gallons of biofuel. The engineering plans will focus on the specific structure and operation of the facility, marking a significant step in the project’s development.
The FEL-2 phase is essential for ensuring that the facility is built effectively and with scalability in mind. The planned facility aims to utilize Blue Biofuels’ CTS technology, designed to enhance both the efficiency and scalability of biofuel production.
Funding for the initiative is supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, awarded to Blue Biofuels as part of a Phase 2 project earlier this year.
Ben Slager, the CEO of Blue Biofuels, highlighted the importance of this collaboration with GMP. “We are excited to move forward with this critical phase of our project,” he commented, noting the potential of the facility to validate their technological advancements. Slager stressed that the development of cellulosic biofuels is pivotal for advancing sustainable energy solutions.
