Alfa Laval and Bisviridi have joined forces in a collaborative effort to revolutionize organic and food waste recycling, with a focus on enhancing sustainability. This partnership brings together Alfa Laval’s cutting-edge Prodec Oil Plus decanter, renowned for its efficient oil separation capabilities, with Bisviridi’s expertise in anaerobic digestion. The combination aims to convert waste oils and fats into biofuel, specifically producing Bio Crude as a greener alternative to oil-based fuels.
The patented process developed by Bisviridi has the potential to refine Bio Crude into SAF,, aligning with the aviation industry’s goals to reduce carbon emissions and participate in the rapidly emerging market for sustainable aviation fuels. By utilizing waste material, this collaboration presents an opportunity to diversify the output of Bisviridi’s BioteCH4 business, increasing revenue while prioritizing environmental sustainability.
Lee Dobinson, Chief Commercial Officer of Bisviridi, expressed “We are thrilled to collaborate with Alfa Laval, merging our AD expertise with their successful history in separation technology to further refine this process and potentially achieve large-scale production worldwide”
Carl Rehncrona, Business Unit President at Alfa Laval, emphasized that the company’s comprehensive product knowledge and global service presence will provide full support throughout the lifecycle of the decanter skid. Rehncrona believes that their collaboration with Bisviridi will set a new standard in anaerobic digestion, contributing to the transformation of food waste into sustainable resources and ultimately creating a more resilient and eco-friendly future.
