Agreena’s Verified Carbon Credits enable immediate climate impact at scale

Agreena, a leader in regenerative agriculture, has achieved verification of its AgreenaCarbon Project under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program. This milestone makes it the first large-scale arable land project to do so. The project is now issuing 2.3 million Verra-verified carbon credits, available immediately.

Verra’s VCS Program is the world’s most recognized standard for voluntary carbon credits and is approved by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market.

Nature-based solutions like this deliver immediate impact. Operating across 1.6 million hectares of regenerative farmland in Europe—from Ukraine to Spain—the AgreenaCarbon Project has reduced 1.2 million tonnes of CO₂ and removed 1.1 million tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere.

Mandy Rambharos, CEO of Verra, said, “The AgreenaCarbon Project shows how soil carbon projects can scale globally. It spans multiple countries and land areas, demonstrating its broad impact. By implementing VM0042 and following the right protocols, we ensure the quality and integrity of the carbon credits. This builds confidence in their ability to scale.”

The impact is felt directly by farmers. Oleksandr Mustipan, a farmer with Agrain Group, said, “Working with Agreena has helped us adopt regenerative practices faster. Verra verification proves the credibility of our work. It motivates us to contribute to real climate impact as part of a larger effort.”

The AgreenaCarbon Project now covers 1.6 million hectares of regeneratively farmed land. It partners with farmers across the UK, Denmark, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, and Spain. By adopting regenerative practices to reduce and remove greenhouse gases, farmers deliver measurable climate benefits.

Now verified by Verra and an independent Validation/Verification Body (VVB), Agreena can issue Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) that meet the world’s highest standards. Several European companies, including Radisson Hotel Group, have already pre-ordered a significant share of these credits. With issuance open, more companies seeking high-integrity, scalable nature-based climate solutions can now access these verified credits.
