Anaergia and Bioenerys partner to boost bioenergy production in Italy

Anaergia, through its subsidiary Anaergia S.r.l., has entered into a strategic agreement with a subsidiary of Bioenerys. This collaboration aims to significantly expand and upgrade the Moglia bioenergy facility in northern Italy, leveraging advanced bio-based technologies to maximize bioenergy production.

This transformative project will increase the plant’s capacity to process agricultural residues and produce biomethane. It will more than double the volume of bio-derived methane injected into the energy grid. Completion is targeted for the end of 2026, with Anaergia projecting revenues of C$11 million from this bioenergy enhancement.

“We are proud to deploy the world’s leading bio-technologies and expertise to optimize the Moglia plant’s operations,” said Andrea Sgorbini, CEO of Bioenerys’ Agri division, which specializes in agricultural residue management.

“With this expansion, Bioenerys will become an even more vital bioenergy solutions provider to farmers and organic waste producers, significantly boosting renewable energy generation.”

Assaf Onn, CEO of Anaergia, added, “Our extensive experience with organic waste-to-energy solutions ensures we deliver innovative, bio-based systems that improve operational efficiency and generate economic and environmental benefits.”
